The Brand Sprint

The Foundation

The Brand Sprint

Fixed scope, fixed price.

In three weeks, we’ll be laying the foundations.

Positioning, messaging, creative direction

… and the plan to build it.

Two focused workshop days, then the work that turns them into tangible results. Clear decisions instead of buzzwords.

When the product
can do so much more,

than the brand shows.

You have taken over the company,

and the brand is still telling your predecessor’s chapter.

A relaunch is coming.

Website, sales material, trade fair stand. Nothing says what the brand is supposed to communicate.

Plenty of activity, little effect.

Marketing is producing, but without one direction.

A new product needs a story,

one that says more than a spec sheet.

Why a Brand Sprint?

Jake Knapp built the Design Sprint at Google Ventures. One team, five days, a tested decision at the end. I rebuilt the principle for brand work.

The classic branding process too often dies in approval loops.

Months between workshops, half-formed decisions that dissolve in meetings, and a document nobody uses at the end.

The Brand Sprint turns that around. The decision makers sit at the same board for two half days. Every exercise is strictly timeboxed. Voting is done with dots, not with discussion. Each decision becomes the ground for the next one, and a holistic brand framework takes shape.

The Brand Sprint is the defined first step of any collaboration… standalone or as the opening move. The process is mine, the decisions are yours. And you see how I work before you commit to anything longer.

What the Brand Sprint is not

No test project. No logo job. No content production. No six months of agency.

The Sprint decides and documents… it does not implement. That is deliberate. Nothing built on top pays off until the foundation holds. Your team, your agency or the Retainer handles the execution.

How the Brand Sprint runs.

Week 1
Preparation

Before we meet, I have done the groundwork.

Your market, your competition, your digital presence. Plus a compact questionnaire, and short conversations with two or three key people if you want them.

We start with findings, not with a briefing.

Workshop day 1
Position
(remote, live in Miro, 2 × 2 hours)

The view from outside. Where should the brand stand in ten years… and which questions does this Sprint have to answer to get there?

The Value Proposition Canvas uncovers what your customers actually buy. On the positioning matrix you map the market yourself and see where your place is. The 4C check tests that position against reality.

Workshop day 2
Character (remote, live in Miro, 2 × 2 hours)

The view from inside. What do we do, how do we do it, why do we exist? Values and core audiences.

Then the brand personality, tuned along opposing pairs and extended with archetypes where the brand calls for it. What comes out is the messaging framework… positioning statement, core message, proof.

Week 2 & 3
Development and handover

The decisions from both days become the Brand Book… written out and ready to use, as a PDF, including a 30-minute explainer video for everyone who was not in the room.

We cover the handover and any open questions in a full closing session.

Then the entire brand strategy belongs to you.

What you have at the end.

The Brand Book.

One PDF document… positioning, value proposition, messaging, audiences, competitive map.

The working basis for everyone who picks it up afterwards.

The creative direction.

Visual territory and tone of voice… the guardrails for everything designed after this.

The roadmap.

The implementation roadmap. What gets built, in which order and what can wait.

The explainer video.

30 minutes explaining the strategy… for your team and everyone who was not in the workshop.

The Miro board.

The whole path to the decision, traceable for anyone who joins later.
